With the onset of the pandemic caused by COVID-19, many businesses and services became accessible only online, almost overnight. For some, this has been a great adventure working from home, and for others, it has been a challenge of trying to connect. We understand that some households don't have access to internet connectivity, wi-fi services, computer equipment, cameras, or smartphones. In other cases, some households may have a lack of confidence in navigating online services, and/or utilizing computer devices of all kinds. Sometimes it means there are just competing needs for Zoom access.
If you are having any of the above challenges to access services virtually, please consider making an appointment with the Fallbrook Regional Health District Zoom Room Program. The Zoom Room Program provides a confidential setting equipped with the necessary computer components and services to help you conduct virtual calls for such activities as medical provider calls, attorney calls, family fun, and connectivity calls, or other online services to conduct activities of daily living (online grocery shopping or the arrangement of other online services).
The Zoom Room Program is available at no charge in 30-minute appointments (if the activity is longer, a longer appointment can be accommodated), 2 days a week, starting Tuesday, September 15, and then every Tuesday and Thursday, 10:00 am - 4:30 pm. For now, in-person assistance in Spanish will be available on Tuesdays. Participants can bring their own device or have District staff assist you in making your connection using the designated computer. District staff will be available should you need assistance during the call. The Zoom Room Program can also be utilized for tutorial practice in using the equipment whether or not you have a specific call to make. The Zoom Room is sanitized following each appointment, and masks are required to be worn when entering and leaving the facility.
