Mr. Salmon became interested in serving the FHD when our local paper covered the possibility of the Fallbrook Hospital closure. He had had a long history of leading hospitals - troubled or not - over his career as a hospital CEO, a healthcare executive and management consultant. He also recognized that healthcare districts have a much broader role in improving the health of the citizens of a community and wanted to promote that broader role. On September 27th, 2017, Mr. Salmon was appointed as board chair of the Association of California Healthcare Districts (ACHD).
Mr. Salmon received his Masters in Healthcare Administration from the University of Minnesota. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and is certified in that field. He and his wife, Leslie, moved to Fallbrook in 2011. They have two children and five grandchildren.
